Aremu Afolayan Opens Up On Relationship With Sikiratu Sindodo

One thing that has distinguished Aremu Afolayan, one of the scions of Ade Love film dynasty, from his other siblings in Nollywood is his reported romance with older women. One cannot quickly forget his well publicised romance with London-based journalist, Yetunde Bustline some years ago.
While both Aremu and Yetunde were love items, their sizzling romance made different news headlines. Those who claimed to be in the know swore that Aremu is a dude that has special love for dating older women. Tale-bearers also bragged that apart from dating older women, Aremu loves them (older women) to be rich and ready to spoil him with money.
Just recently, it was rumoured that the handsome actor cum movie producer, Aremu was in a another sizzling romance with the former babe of top Oshodi transporter, MC Oluomo and actor, Kunle Afod, Sinkiratu Sindodo.
Though Aremu has denied any romance between him and Sikiratu, those close to him have argued that both actors are warming their beds.
Speaking with Nigeriafilms.com on the rumoured romance between him and Sikiratu when contacted on phone, Aremu revealed that the only relationship between them is a colleague relationship.
“I have not dated Sikiratu Sindodo. She is my colleague and a friend and that’s all,” Aremu stated.
Reacting further, the filmmaker disclosed, “I don’t know how they mean Sikiratu being in the game. I don’t even hear when people say I date someone. I think my relationship with anybody that I date should be my personal thing and concern. I don’t see anybody but myself.”

Traffic Law: Fashola Arrests Police Officer Riding Okada

The Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola yesterday arrested a police officer, identified as Ebahan Johnson, who violated the new traffic law by riding his 100 CC commercial motorcycle popularly called Okada on the Agege Motor Road, Ikeja.

The governor accosted the police officer on the expressway during an inspection tour of ongoing projects in the Lagos-West Senatorial District of the state, while riding a red Bajaj motorcycle.

The officer who resisted arrest earlier, succumbed when he realised that he was accosted by the governor, who had warned that Okada should not ply the express road with a motorcycle with such capacity and without helmet. Fashola on the arrest said: “There is no one that is above the law. If anyone cannot submit itself to the law of the state, then that person should please leave the state.” He warned that the state government would not condone violation of the road traffic law of the state, which was signed into law to bring sanity back to road transportation.

He said: “There is no society where laws are not broken, but the state government will increase its enforcement for residents to comply with. And as we move on the road and we see any one violating the law, we will stop and arrest them.” On the officer, the governor stated that the officer would be handed over to the Commissioner of Police, Umar Mankko for proper prosecution.

“I am sure he would be prosecuted,” Fashola stated. Meanwhile, hundreds of traders of Katangowa, Agbado-Oke-Odo Local Council Development Area, (LCDA),urged the state government to halt its plan to relocate the market for the construction of the new Lagos State Digital Village presently located in Ikeja Area of Lagos.

American actress, Lindsay Lohan fight at Night club

Famous Hollywood actress, fashion designer, model and recording artist, Lindsay Lohan left a Manhattan police station where she was arrested after fighting at a New York nightclub for allegedly punching

a lady.

However, she was accused of punching Tiffany Eve Mitchell, 28, leaving her face bruised and swollen.
Lindsay Lohan is led away from Avenue nightclub in handcuffs by police in the early hours of Thursday morning.
Tiffany also goes by the name 'Ava'; she comes from Palm Beach, Florida. She owns Palm Beach Psychic Visions. She reads palms and tarot cards, according to the Palm Beach Daily News.
An eyewitness said; Mitchell and Lohan were sitting in separate VIP sections when a fight broke out.
They bumped into each other and words were exchanged with Lohan saying something to the effect of 'Give me my space', but both returned to their seats. Then Lohan allegedly got back up and punched Mitchell in the face.
However, the Police were called, and Mitchell identified Lohan as her attacker.
Although the actress had left the venue, the police later intercepted a car in which she was passenger and made the arrest. As she was led away in handcuffs, the star is believed to have yelled: 'Oh my God! I didn't touch anyone!' She kept repeating: 'Are you kidding me? Are you kidding me?'


More so, Lohan was later taken to the 10th Precinct Station House in Manhattan, where she was accused of misdemeanour assault. She received a desk appearance ticket and will have to appear in court on January 11. She was described as being 'visibly tired'.
Nevertheless, Gavin Doyle, Lohan's assistant does not believe the allegations as she said, 'It's become a pastime to use her name and fame and blame things on her,'
Furthermore, earlier this morning, a dark-haired man and two blondes left the precinct, one of whom is believed to be Mitchell. The women didn't speak but the man said, 'Lindsay Lohan got drunk and went crazy...hit my wife.'
Avenue is a club frequently which does not even bear a sign at its front door. It is owned by millionaire Noah Tepperberg, the ringmaster of a string of New York nightclubs including Marquee, as well as Lavo in Las Vegas.
It was the second time this week that Lindsay went to the club. She was spotted there on Tuesday night.

RMD In Alleged N50m Embezzlment Scandal

News hit the stand that former actor and current Delta state Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Richard Mofe Damijo (RMD) is currently embroiled in a N50 million naira embezzlement scandal.

 According to dailypost.com.ng, the Commissioner and the acting GM, one Mrs Ajufo were in on the deal together. The money in question was supposed to be for an event, ‘Delta state Expo 2007‘ but could not be released at the time it was needed. The money was finally released in May 2012, five years after the slated event.

According to dailypost.com.ng  “As soon as the money arrived, the commissioner said that the ministry could no longer hold the event since six years had elapsed. The Honourable Commissioners also argued that Deltans would have forgotten about the event – and therefore the money should not be used for the purpose it was released.Closed insiders however said that Damijo conspired to issue a check of N35 million in the name of the General Manager of the state’s Tourism Board, Ms. Ajufo who allegedly deposited the sum into her First Bank private account number 3006131619.
The source said: “Mrs. Ajufo and RMD then shared the money.”

The story goes on and on but if this story is true then we fear that our darling RMD, former screen god has finally been taken by the demons of corrupt Nigerian politics.

Boy kills father to save mother’s life

A fight between husband and wife Mr. Christopher and Mrs.Thorpe started on Saturday evening,

during a bonfire party. Their son who witnessed the dispute, turned violent and fatally shot his

father in a desperate attempt to save his mother's life.

According to reporters, the couple went inside of a mobile home and an argument ensued. "He was beating her, [he] kept punching her," said Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Debbie Carter, according to newsmen. "Then they went from the living room to the master bedroom where he kept beating her."

The couple's 17-year-old son, Channing Thorpe, ran into the mobile home where he discovered his father strangling his mother, police say. The teen used a handgun to fire several shots at his father to kill him.

The boy's mother suffered a bullet wound to the thigh, the Tampa Tribune reports. She received treatment at a nearby hospital and was later released.

Hugh Williamson, who lives a few doors down from where the incident took place, was saddened by the violence.

"You hate to wake up and hear things like that much less in your own neighbourhood," Williamson told newsmen.

Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office are still investigating the matter. Channing Thorpe was left in the custody of his mother. He is not facing charges.

President Jonathan to end Nigeria’s over-reliance on Oil

President Goodluck Jonathan has promised that his administration would not leave any stone unturned in his quest to diversify the nation's economy. The President, represented by his deputy, Namadi Sambo

said this during a command performance dinner held at the Presidential Villa in honour of participants of the Abuja National Carnival on Monday.

As a way of diversifying the economy, Jonathan said the Federal Government would keep promoting sustainable growth in the nation's tourism and culture sector.
According to him, Nigeria has everything it needs to be the number one tourist destination in the world.

He further promised that the government would continue to provide favourable investment climate as well as business incentives to both local and foreign investors in order to boost the economy, he said this while acknowledging support of the private sector for the Abuja national festival.

He said, "The laudable dreams that gave birth to the carnival have continued to motivate its annual celebration, anchored on the recognition that there exists a nexus between culture and the economic and technological growth of a nation.

"The Abuja Carnival has proven to be one successful step in directing attention to the untapped huge investment opportunities in Nigeria's exceptionally rich and diverse cultural and artistic heritage."
In his comments, the Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, Mr. Denzil Douglas, highly praised President Jonathan and Nigerians for underpinning socio-cultural ties between his country and Nigeria.

He also showed appreciation to the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, for engaging him to partake in this year's carnival.

Earlier, the Minister of Tourism, Culture and National Orientation, Mr. Edem Duke, said he is optimistic that the carnival will definitely contribute its quota to the development and transformation of the nation.
