and it environs was thrown into confusion last night as officers of
Nigeria Police Force at the Sabo-Yaba area led by its DPO raided all the
Night Clubs and Lounges within the vicinity as fun seekers on the night
had to run for their lives leaving Management of these outfits to run at loss of millions of naira.The raid, which saw the policemen roving all around the Clubs and Lounge in three Black-Maria and two Hilux vehicles, was according to investigation, instigated by a management of some new Lounge Road Runners who were re-launching on this same night when the popular comedian, Bright Okpocha’s Basketmouth Lounge Embarssy, on Unilag Road, Akoka, Yaba, was on the climax, in a bid to scare fun seekers away from all Clubs and Lounge in the area and probably have no option but witness their re-launch of Road Runners Lounge at Yaba, Lagos.
Gathered, the owners of Road Runners Lounge, Yaba, one Diran and Sobowale had perfected plans to re-launch after experiencing low patronage for sometime with the thoughts that the emergence of Basketmouth’s Embarssy last June and some new clubs in the area have adversely affected their business thus the reason to partner the police to carry out the raids on other clubs with claims that they are on special duty or perhaps a tip-off.
Meanwhile the management of Embassy and other Lounges within the Akoka-Yaba area have already put up a petition to the Commissioner of Police in Lagos State against the action of the Sabo-Yaba Police Station officers led by its DPO on why their business would be distrupted without tangible reasons and also stating millions of naira they have lost on the night because of the action
