Indeed, there is so much pain behind fame. Nollywood actor, Emeka Ike is one
happening guy whom whenever you see him is always happy and lively. Sure,
anyone who has seen him of recent will admire his confidence and calm
demeanour, but hardly will anyone believe that hired killers were once sent to
take the life of this talented actor.
Here's the never-before-told account in the actor's unpublished interview from our archive. We asked him the challenge of running St. Nicholas College, Magodo Lagos,with his wife. Just thought you need to know.
Emeka Ike told our reporter "This sector (education sector) is terrible. I didn't know there are mafias. Did you know that they have consistently tried in this community to bring my name and the school's name to disrepute? They once paid some one to actually go to a big church in this Magodo to give a discrediting testimony with my school's name. This was in a church of over two thousand
people.

So I begin to ask myself why Nigerians don't like
development. Would it have been better if I invested my money into buying jeeps
and popping bottles of champagne all over the place, but I decided to impact
people's life? These children are the future of this country. You can't imagine
how many people fight me on this street alone. Some people will even incite the
government against me. They want to frustrate me, but God is our
strength. Just recently hired assassins were sent to my house;
masked men! Ask the guy that just came in a few minutes ago (referring to one of his workers at the school). They stormed my house. If not for God I would have been a dead man by now".
