GOLDIE: 5 Surprising Facts You May not Know About her

We are still in shock about the sad and unfortunate news of Goldie Harvey's Death. Here are some facts you may not know about the late singer.

1. Goldie was an Albino:Believe it or not, her somewhat whitish skin which many critics like to say it's a result of bleaching is not. Goldie happened to be an albino but, much effort on her part puts into serious maintenance of her skin is what helped her to achieve what seemed like normal skin. She was this type of albinos with golden colour skin and that was why she used to be called Goldie by neighbours while she was in the U.K, so she adopted the name as her stage name

2. Goldie was extremely emotional: she can shed tears at the slightest of provocation or at the sight of even the simplest emotional incidence. Remember her popular prank on Basketmouth's Big Friday show where she wept uncontrollably and in shock when a fan was prevented from saying 'hi' to her. Now how many celebrities give a damn about such things? You also remember her huge show of emotion on Big Brother Africa Stargame.

3. Goldie's best subject was CRK: Christian Religious Knowledge was her favourite subject because she didn’t have to study too hard to pass it. The fact that both her dad and mum were actively involved in church things made this very natural for her. Her Dad was a leader in church and very active too while her mum used to lead
the choir.

4. Goldie's dad was obsessively against her singing career: She had a hard won battle with her dad over her foray into the Art. She was a prodigious kid with a strong flair for the arts and everything creative, Goldie recalled drawing sketches of anything that caught her fancy but
whenever her dad saw her drawing, he would tear it, asking rather erroneously how many people have achieved outstanding success in arts. This however did not deter the blithely ambitious young lady from wanting to give vent to her dreams .

5.Goldie's Date-reminder business: Interestingly, Goldie’s return to Nigeria in the mid-2000s did not quite signal an immediate take-off for her career. Rather, she concentrated on building her date-reminder services business. In the course of this, she needed to do a jingle and was introduced to Mani of Cool FM who bowled her over with his production aplomb. They talked about music and what they’d like to achieve. The young lady evinced unadulterated passion and determination which prompted Mani to introduce her to industry players. Then, she met renowned producer, OJB Jezreel who would produce her first single, Komole. This was followed by three other singles Spin Me, Nothing has Changed, and Shift, which all formed part of her compilation CD. Since then, there has been no stopping her.
